Springs are quite familiar to everyone, and we often see rectangular compression springs, which are commonly used on ballpoint pens. Other types of springs may not be very common to everyone. Springs are used in many products, such as pressure gauges and some bouncing machines, because the rebound ability of springs is relatively good, which just meets the needs of these products. As mentioned above, there are many types of springs, and what I want to introduce here is scroll springs. With the development of scroll springs in recent years, there have been many advances in processing technology
Processing Technology of Scroll Springs
1. The outer diameter, variable pitch, and variable wire diameter suspension scroll springs have achieved non plastic processing. Since the development of precision scroll springs, conical steel bars have been used for winding and processing on CNC lathes, but the finished products and prices are not ideal. Nowadays, in the heating state, the rolling speed and drawing force are controlled by a coil spring machine to obtain the required cone shape, and the processing waste heat is used for quenching and compressing the scroll spring
2. The scroll spring rod is made of low-carbon boron steel plate, which is rolled and welded into shape
3. The scroll spring is made of high-purity 45 steel, which is quenched at high frequency to obtain high surface hardness and large residual compressive stress, thereby improving fatigue life and anti relaxation ability
4. The scroll springs widely used in electronic products are basically formed by stamping and automatic bending processing, and currently the main focus is on developing composite material bonding technology
5. Spiral springs mainly develop multi-stage shot peening and liquid nitriding processes to improve surface residual compressive stress and increase fatigue life
